Next Big Thing; Integrity, Honesty, and Truth
Integrity, Honesty, and Truth are some of the basic foundations within the core of Christianity. But what is it about the Prophetic? Has it been forgotten?
There is clear historical evidence that God has used people in this gifting off and on for the last two thousand years. Yet, standing before the evidence with their eyes closed, people say it does not happen.
Still, on the other side of the fence, you have people rushing up to the fence claiming to be a prophet who clearly are not. In many of these environments there is a religious and social pressure to accept their claims, never examining what is being said by them. Part of this is because the Body of Christ has been taught to judge prophetic words by their emotions and not by the Spirit.
Concerning the first group, the answer seems obvious. A fool determined to believe a lie will never listen to the truth. But the second group, well the answer to that may be more complicated.
First of all, you have the spiritual warfare dynamic. The devil wants to break any and all forms of communication in the Lord’s army to diminish its effectiveness. Second, you do have false prophets running around out there. They have a dedicated following as they ride the tails of the patriot movement. Because of this to question any of these “prophets,” is seen as being disloyal or un-American in some Christian groups. So I guess I won’t talk about Julie Green here.
But thirdly there is one other factor, and its large, immaturity in the prophetic. There is a clear process of accountability and mentorship in the New Testament. And in some cases concerning spiritual gifting older, wiser people have come alongside people in other gifting to educate and help them out. However, only in the prophetic do we see people zealously trying to apply the Old Testament rule of one strike and you’re dead. These people are claiming to be under new while having a heart locked down in the Old. I mean… do people not realize we are in the covenant grace now? But for fear of digressing down a rabbit hole, I will move on.
Factors of Influence
I listen to a few pastors older than me who have spoken some of the hard lessons they learned. They learned how destructive it was to release people into ministry before they were ready. As I listened I realized that in many ways, this is what has happened with the Prophetic. Leaders released that have not been readied, proven for the tasks ahead. No true seedbed was prepared in their lives for Integrity, Honesty, and Truth to grow.
As a result, they get pushed around by social, and religious pressures. Consider this Facebook post from Jeremiah Johnson
Pressure exists and people want to make money. And if you “feel” the pressure to be on the cutting edge then you are either going to give in and say what they want, or you going to be alone. ( Jeremiah 23:30 )
Sometimes other things get in the way, like a soulish inspiration that should have stopped with the person. I remember many years ago at a Morningstar Conference, the current worship leader of the day, Leonard Jones took a stab at trying to prophesy. This was a hand-hitting your own face moment as you could not believe what he said.
He prophesied the next president of the United States would be… Arnold Schwarzenegger. Apparently, Leonard forgot his High School history class about the qualification for the presidency. “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.” Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5
But that may explain why I have never seen Leonard attempt to prophesy after that. Someone may have explained this to him.
Missfires and blunders happen to everyone, at every level in every spiritual gifting. How many pastors have been so boring that they put the congregation to sleep or slowly drove them away to have an empty building? Currently, I suspect there are far more bad pastors out there than bad prophets.
Other examples
I’ve been asked by a few people who know my past, “what do you think of Rick’s replacement, Chris Reed?”
My answer has been simple, “no clue, never met the man. He came in after I left.” And so my answer has been for some time until recently when I felt the Lord had shown me something.
And yes, this means for all you legalist people out there, if I get this wrong you can toss me into the same camp as the rest of the false prophets.
Chris Read is Issac, what I believe the Lord has shown is that Reed is similar to Issac out of Genesis. He is the guy in the middle, a fill-in person. And like the leader he is replacing, they are both flawed.
The purpose of Issac was to pave the way for Jacob who would bring forth the twelve tribes, and so is Chris. Another is coming, who will most likely be just as flawed as well. But this replacement will pave the way for a greater expansion.
I won’t bother to get into the issues with Rick, they are already well-known by many people. But Chris is new and not well known, so let me bring up a couple of things so that any illusion of perfection can be removed. Note; this is not being shared for the purpose of tearing down, but to raise the bar higher for the rest of us.
After coming on staff a couple of years ago, Chris made various public predictions, let’s see how well he did.
- Biden won’t finish his first year in office.
- Rise in female political leaders around the world.
- A new female political leader will rise up in England in 2022
- A new virus will be coming
- A new African-American woman, Candis Owens will rise in power
- Governor DeSantis has a special anointing, god will use this freedom-loving man and he will apparently be linked to Candis Owens.
- God’s grace will fall on Kamila Harris to move her away from socialism.
- Brexit will continue in Europe, watch Poland in 2022
- Brazil will have a revival in 2022.
Concerning most of these prophetic words, if you have at all been connected to the patriot movement for a few years you will recognize these things as normal chatter. In effect, they were all openly talked about by millions of people long before Chris’s message was given. This to me could obviously be the effect of in-maturity and social pressure to perform before an audience.
Leaders are pushed from every angle, and if they build a habit of giving in. The next thing they know they are pushed into godless systems that are masquerading as godly.
The general quality of the prophetic in 2023 is not what it should be. Integrity, Honesty, and Truth have become little more than slogans to wave before the crowd. That is why I believe God is hitting the reset button as I mentioned in my blog post “Where is the Underground Railroad?”
The Next Big Thing
The new is going to need to struggle against the current, up past previous moves to form its own platform. Those who truly seek the Lord in Spirit and Truth with a Holy heart will make it. These are the ones who will have responded to the call, suffering insult and loss of relationships. With Integrity, Honesty, and Truth, these Jeremiahs will look Hananiah in the face and keep moving.
